What drew you to the marketing industry?

At first I was helping influencers with their technical support and what drew me back then was the interaction with game developers, being able to cover their games and be in contact with them.

Later on through being fan of indie games I got in more close contact with developers and was able to utilize my skills to help out indie and solo developers with their marketing strategies, like getting their game covered for the first time by a streamer or to help them write news posts on their latest updates. I get a lot of satisfaction from seeing a marketing strategy succeed and the developers being happy with the content I provide.

What do you like most about your role?
The interaction! I’ve always been on social media and being able to follow the trends and following the algorithm is like a game to me. I really like to interact with the communities around games and game services as there is always something different going on in the industry and a lot of new people to meet. Next to that connecting people over their similar interests is a very fun thing to do, you’re never alone in your interests on the internet.

What do you like most about Loopr?
I share the same values as our team. I also share the vision as I want to get indie games more out there as there still is some stigma to them in some groups of gamers. I’ve already worked with marketing departments over the course of the last 5 years, but this is the first time that I dip my toes into PR and Loopr is giving me the full creative freedom to explore and grow within this branch of the games industry, which feels like a revelation.

What exciting projects are you working on?
Loopr wise, we are working on some really cool projects, Requisition VR, Ships That Fight Underground, DC Dual Force and RIPOUT. They’re all as equally exciting! I’m not that fond of horror games, but I went to try out RIPOUT and had lots of fun with it and was able to turn that into good content, which made me come out of my comfort zone.

Outside of Loopr I focus a lot on playtesting games, I host a local playtesting event in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, that invites students and developers to come showcase and have gamers test their games on a monthly basis.

What’s your favorite hobby?
I’m an avid collector of all things DC, Marvel, Star Wars, Games and Hard Rock Cafe. In my free time I can mostly be found thrift shopping as I like not knowing what the store will have and what you will come home with. I mostly check for comics, (retro) games, statues/figures and Hard Rock/Harley Davidson memorabilia. Next to collecting, I am also a dad of 2 sons and strongly believe in sustainability, I mostly thrift for clothes and toys as well for them.
