Loopr had the distinct opportunity of working with CCG Labs, a developer known for its work in the collectible card game space. The team’s latest release was DC Dual Force, a card game set in the renowned DC comics universe. The high-profile title meant stepping out of the indie space for a little and becoming part of a much more elaborate process, including press release approval through Warner Bros. and arranging exclusive coverage opportunities through revered gaming publications. The initial PR push for the collectible card game was developing a list of influencers and game journalists to participate in a closed beta. Loopr formed fruitful relationships with a number of influencers and streamers via the DC Dual Force Discord channel and social media posts. In early June 2023, the first press release was distributed announcing signups for the closed PC beta. With a name like DC tied to the release, we wanted to establish exclusive coverage with a known media outlet. Working alongside CCG Labs, we devised a plan to offer four character announcement trailers as an exclusive closer to the game’s official launch date. Through our media connections, we negotiated exclusive coverage with Game Informer, which ran the quartet of trailers in late July.We also secured coverage at ComicBook.com, Dot Esports, Bleeding Cool, and other high-traffic sites.
